Well, this is new for me. I do not blog much. I have a myspace account but this seems a little different than throwing out random tid bits of useful or not so useful information. Anyway, the first class was good… it had a good strong syllybus. I am looking forward to this class. I am constantly wrestling with how to make Christ and the gospel relavent to high school students. The world of Jesus seems so distant and so removed from the world that we live in. Nothing remains unquestioned in this generation (which is probably good) and in the culture that we live, anything can be claimed to be truth. It seems like my truth can be viewed as an equal to any other truth, and for so many people God is viewed in the same terms. “I have my faith and you have your’s and we will probably all be fine because we just need to be good people” seems to be exploded from every direction. I am excited for this class so that I can continue to fine tune my teaching skills in a way that calls people into a relationship with the one truth and the only way, namely Jesus. I am excited to continue to reach out into a generation of youths that have no way to follow and no community to be a part of.
